Androneda is a Dutch balfolk band. We play traditional Western European dance music, but with a contemporary twist!
We perform mostly our own compositions on bagpipes, accordion, and saxophone. Our arrangements are playful and exciting; our songs energetic and swinging, yet often intimate, with catchy melodies. The central principle of our music is always its danceability!
Balfolk?
Balfolk is a dance style characterized by its accessibility. It falls under the category of “social dance”, meaning it’s not about dancing steps correctly, but about having a good time. Live music is therefore an important part of this. Our repertoire includes couple dances such as the bourrée, scottish, waltz, and mazurka, as well as group dances like the cercle, gigue, rondeau, chaine, or andro.
So come and dance, or just listen while having a drink!
Dance workshop
